Attending a course
How do I attend a course?
When purchasing a course, you'll be added to a list of students for that course. A week before the course starts, you'll receive an email with login information for the course. Simply use this information to connect to the meeting 10 minutes before a course is scheduled to start!
Do I need anything to attend a course?
You will need internet access and the Zoom client to attend classes. The Zoom client is free and does not require signing up to Zoom to use it. It is available for both PCs and mobile devices.
How do I join a class using the Zoom client?
- Before class starts, you will have received an email with the meeting ID and passcode for the class.
- Start the Zoom client.
- Enter the meeting ID from the email you received, as well as your name.
- Ensure that "Don't connect to audio" is NOT checked.
- Click "Join".
- You will be prompted for the passcode you received in the email. Fill this in.
- Select "Join Meeting".
- You will now be in attendance.

Selecting a course
What course should I take first?
This depends on your objective. If you are a student and you wish to improve your grades, we suggest you start with a Study Skills or Academic Success course. If you wish to improve your career prospects, then starting with a Career Success or Self-Growth course will be a better option for you.
How often are courses repeated?
Each Aces term lasts four months, and most courses will be available at least once per term.
What currency are courses listed in? How do I change currency?
By default, prices are shown in US dollars. You can set your preferred currency at the bottom of any page on our website.
What time zone are the classes listed in?
All class times are listed in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). You can convert to your local timezone using an online time convertor such as this one.
What languages are courses conducted in?
Aces courses are conducted in English. English fluency is recommended in order to get the most value out of each course.
Missing a class
What happens if I lose internet access during a class?
In case that a student drops connection, class will continue without pause. However, class recordings will be available for 48 hours after the class is completed and these can be watched to review any missed material.
What happens if technical difficulties force Aces to cancel a class?
While it hasn’t happened to date, in the event that Aces must cancel a class, notice will be sent to you as early as possible, and the class will be rescheduled. If you are unable to attend at the new date and time, please let us know as soon as possible.
Are there any accommodations if I miss a class in a multi-class course?
Recordings of each class will be available for 48 hours after the class is completed. We would encourage you to watch the recording at your convenience so as to not fall behind.
Can I cancel or reschedule a course?
Aces courses can be refunded up to 30 days before the course date. Please see our Refund Policy for the most accurate and up-to-date information on refunds.
Should an emergency arise after the refund period has expired, please contact us and we will see if room can be made for you in another session.
Misc
Do I get a discount for purchasing multiple courses at once?
Yes. When purchasing three or more courses, a 10% discount will automatically be applied to your order. This discount cannot be combined with or used in conjunction with other discounts.
Do you offer private courses for individuals or groups? Do you offer on-demand courses?
Yes, we offer private courses for individuals and groups, as well as on-demand courses. Please send us a message through our Contact page mentioning your interest in taking a private course or an on-demand course, the number of participants, which course you wish to take, and the dates and time (GMT) that you prefer. We are excited to meet you and/or your team.
Do you run courses for young children?
Yes, we do. Once a term we run classes in study skills and creative writing exclusively for children in primary school. In these, we simplify the course content and use age-appropriate exercises in accordance with the participating children’s learning capacity.
